BIOTECHWORKS-H2 Co., Ltd. (“BTW-H2”; Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Akihide Nishikawa) is pleased to announce that its Representative Director, CEO & Founder, Akihide Nishikawa, has obtained certification as a Specially Controlled Industrial Waste Manager.

Mr Nishikawa completed the training course provided by the Japan Industrial Waste Information Center (JW Center), passed the final examination, and received a certificate of completion.

A Specially Controlled Industrial Waste Manager is a role established under Japan’s Waste Management and Public Cleansing Act. The manager is responsible for overseeing industrial waste that may have explosive, toxic, or other hazardous properties. Key responsibilities include monitoring the generation of waste, preparing treatment plans, inspecting storage conditions, and selecting appropriate waste treatment contractors.

BTW-H2 is developing waste-to-energy projects in Japan and overseas. The characteristics and composition of the waste handled may vary significantly. For this reason, BTW-H2 believes it is essential for those in positions of responsibility to understand both legal requirements and practical on-site standards firsthand.
